is a small, family operated business that has been in operation since 2006.
We primarily focus on the wholesale and supply of gasoline fuel to various gas stations across 5 different states.
We are seeking a team player who can safely haul fuel to our dealers in the state of Alabama.
*Position*: Experienced Tanker Driver (Fuel Haul) with Tanker and Hazmat Certification *Location*: Montgomery, AL * *Experience*: Minimum of one year proven experience required hauling gasoline.
_(Must provide Hazmat and Tanker endorsement certifications in order to move forward with employment)_ *PAY/Hours*: * Signing bonus of $3,000 that is paid over a period of time during the first year of employment * $1,600 a week * 60 hours a week * Includes weekends * No overnight travel-home every night * 10-12 hour shifts *Sun Oil Trucking Company Truck Driver Advantages:* * Daily return to home * We provide you with a consistent salary year round! 11(b)(1) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations * You must have a Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements * Must be able to work with gas and diesel products * Must be able to pass MVR Check * Must be able to pass DOT Drug test * Driver must qualify physically, and obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate, under the requirements of 49 CFR, Section 391 43-49 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations * Knowledge of all applicable DOT and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations * Must have a minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience * Must have no more than 2 moving violations or 2 at-fault accidents within the past 3 years.
No more than a combination of 1 moving violation and 1 at-fault accident within the past 3 years.
* You cannot have any suspensions of your license for more than 30 days within the last 3 years.
* You must be proficient enough in English to understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, make entries on reports and records, and converse with the public.
* No DUI, OWI, or DWI within the past 10 years * Must never have tested positive for drugs or alcohol while working for a previous employer or lease carrier.
* Must have no record of refusal to take a drug or alcohol test.
*Equipment:* * Company truck and trailer provided * Hazmat hat and glasses provided * Must wear fire resistant gloves and jeans to work *Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:* * Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job * Ability to communicate with associates and customers * Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation including ability to read and interpret documents such as product labels, SDS sheets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, business periodicals and procedure manuals * Capability to learn and use electronic communication and technology systems and equipment on a regular basis to complete payroll, tracking of loads, submission of time off and other company regulatory processes * Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as product quantity, load counts, and weight measurements * Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed *Skills and Physical Demands:* * Ability to hook and unhook trailers when required * The ability to drive for up to 12 hours while transporting hazardous materials and sitting for extended periods of time in a truck tractor * The ability to walk, bend, reach, push, stoop, squat, and climb, as necessary, to perform vehicle inspections required under 49 CFR Sections 396.
11-15 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations * The ability to walk, bend, reach, push, stoop, squat, as well as grasp, lift, and handle heavy equipment as necessary, to ensure safety during the hooking and dropping processes of tractor/trailer combinations.
as well as climb upon the trailer when necessary (for instance, to ensure closure of dome lids following loading or unloading), also when dealing with sections of hose that may exceed 20’ in length, measure as much as 4” in diameter, and weigh as much as 75 lbs.
* This is to ensure safe and proper practice when coupling, and when disconnecting hose * Requires normal range of hearing, vision and smell *Responsibilities*: * Drives company trucks to destinations and operates equipment to transport fuel * Have knowledge and comply with all applicable federal, state, local and company rules and regulations that are in accordance with the accepted principals of the safe operation of a hazardous cargo tank motor vehicle * Have knowledge and comply with the proper methods of loading and unloading for the various cargos to be transported * Report to office at the specified time and maintain contact with logistics/dispatch offices as required * Complete and submit as instructed accurate driver daily logs and all necessary delivery tickets, trip reports, fuel reports, damage reports, and other paperwork required by company * Follow company guidelines with regards to acceptable conduct when dealing with customers, fellow employees, and the motoring public * Comply with all company safety & performance standards * Represent the Company to our customers, the public and the trucking industry in a professional manner at all times * Maintain records for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records and other records * Follow and comply with Company’s “Code of Conduct” program * Report all accidents to a manager immediately involving driver and/or company equipment, regardless of the damage *Other Duties* * Please note this job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position.
