Our Children's Academy (OCA) is looking for dependable, accountable, and professional Educators to help shape Infants and Toddlers through developmental milestones, and to help prepare PreK children prepare to excel in Kindergarten.
Teachers will need to be flexible in time schedules and daily routines.
OCA is a real school with high standards and expectations! OCA is NOT a daycare! Teachers will need to be able to monitor the development of those early skills as children grow through stages, as well as to be ale to embed those early academics needed in preparation for Kindergarten.
Teachers must be able to implement interactive learning approaches, integrated curriculums, and proven research-based practices into a comprehensive lesson plan.
As an OCA Educator, it is imperative that you demonstrate authentic love and patience for all children as well as respect and integrity in your daily interactions.
Teachers need to develop knowledge of the best developmental appropriate practices and preschool educational methods.
Teachers need to also have the ability to engage students in constant communications and learning by capturing their attention and earning their trust.
The goal as an OCA Educator is to simply contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of children so they can more easily acclimate to the next level of education.
*Responsibilities* * Attend monthly staff meetings after work without children * Prepare Weekly Lesson Plans and create fun, interactive lessons and the Curriculum * Follow DHR and OCA's guidelines precisely, daily * Clean Toys and Surfaces regularly throughout the day as used * Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media) to teach children * Interact with children having high conversations throughout the day * Observe children to help improve their social competencies and build self-esteem * Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments * Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.
) * Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times from booboos and other children * Track children’s progress and report to parents with anecdotal notes * Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background * Collaborate with other educators to share ideas and learn from each other * Maintain, clean, and sanitize the classroom area and bathrooms consistent with health and safety standards throughout the school day * Attend/Complete Ongoing Health & Safety, DHR required, and other professional development trainings after work without children when needed *Skills* * Proven experience as a Teacher 1-5 Years * Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods * Familiarity with safety, sanitation, and DHR guidelines for classrooms * Excellent communication and instructional skills * Cool-tempered, friendly, dependable, accountable, follows protocols * *Requirements:* * Must be reliable.
Must understand that a Teacher's daily presence is essential * Must have Genuine patience, love, and a "calling" to work with small children * Must be able to keep children safe at all times from booboos and other children * Must pass Fingerprinting ($50) and Child Abuse and Neglect backgrounds * Must complete all Physical & TB Testing ($50 unless you have insurance) * Must maintain certification in CPR/First Aid (provided) * Must maintain all Health & Safety Trainings as well as DHR 12 Courses yearly * Must maintain and abide by the Mandated Child Abuse/Neglect Reporter Training Education: * Some College experience * Child Development Associate Degree or Certification --OR-- willingness to obtain degree on a Scholarship Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $10.

00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40 per week Schedule: * 8 hour shift Application Question(s): * Are you able to set your Doctor appointments or any personal business after 3pm to ensure your daily presence at school? * If your car or reliable transportation was to break down, do you have another way to get to work daily so that you are not calling out from work? * Do you have early child development experience working at a daycare or headstart teaching newborn up to ages 5 years old? This is not the same as babysitting.
* Are you an organized person who likes to keep your area clean? Do you know how to keep a class from being contaminated with germs when children are sick? Do you have a flexible attitude towards helping out wherever is needed? * Do you READ everything that is given to you? You cannot be a good, thorough OCA Educator if you do not READ to develop yourself professionally so that you can better carry out your lessons and daily expectations.
* Are you able to fully commit daily to the role of an OCA Educator without the need for absences unless unforeseen emergencies? The schedules are between 7:00am-5:30pm * Do you speak in complete sentences? Do you know how to write in complete sentences? Are you comfortable talking with parents about their child's developmental progress? * Do you know how to use the computer comfortably? Do you know how to read a curriculum and make sense of it? Do you know how to create fun, interactive lessons to incorporate Art, Math, Reading, Language, Science, and Writing? Experience: * Childcare: 1 year (Required) Work Location: In person
