Position Title: Assessment Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:
Administers and manages the activities associated with assessment.
Collaborate and consult with campus units on assessment of student learning, and administrative program goals.
Provide data templates to academic units undergoing academic program review.
Develop and implement workshops to build an assessment collaborative environment.
Oversee assessment software or reporting system to assure that assessment reports are complete and accurate; contact owners to complete missing or inaccurate items in reports.
Assist in support for activities related to office functions (e.
g.
strategic planning, regional and program accreditation, program review, etc.
) including distribution and analysis for surveys administered by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.
Create, and deliver presentations using data visualization techniques to describe program review activities and assessment results.
Collaborate with the University Core Curriculum Committee to design and implement assessment procedures for the General Education Curriculum including the assessment of student learning outcomes and the evaluation of the core curriculum education.
Promote the use of research-based planning, evaluation, and improvement processes throughout the University among administration, faculty, and staff.
Prepare reports and disseminate information to university’s Chancellor, Provost, and Vice Chancellors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of acceptable basic management practices Knowledge of applicable institutional practices and procedures Knowledge of limited budgeting principles and practices Knowledge of applicable University practices and procedures Interpersonal skills Written communication skills Problem analysis skills Ability to speak in public, lead small group meetings, and make presentations Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and respond to multiple competing demands Ability to use a computer and relevant software applications Ability to manage project activities and the work of others Ability to coordinate the work of others Ability to supervise student workers Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with experience utilizing databases, spreadsheets, and creating reports.
Master’s Degree with at least two (2) years experience preferred.
An intermediate level of proficiency in the utilization of databases, spreadsheets, assessment applications and other analysis tools (e.
g.
SPSS, ACCESS, and Excel) is also preferred.
