The Department of Mathematics at Auburn University at Montgomery invites applications for three non-tenure track full-time lecturer positions, beginning January 2024 or August 2024.
This is a one-year (nine-month), renewable appointment.
Your responsibilities will include teaching courses appropriate to the needs of the department and maintaining office hours.
In addition, you may have other duties as designated by the department chair.
The teaching load is 8 courses (24 hrs) per year (Fall and Spring).
Summer teaching is possible.
Responsibility includes day, evening, and/or off-campus/online teaching.
Successful candidates must have earned at least a master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics and statistics before the employment starts.
Evidence of excellence in teaching and interpersonal communication skills is also required.
Teaching core mathematics and statistics courses is expected.
Service at both the departmental and university levels is also expected.
Successful candidates will have a strong record of excellence in teaching, a commitment to service at both the departmental and university levels, and will possess effective oral and written communication skills.
Successful candidates must demonstrate a passion for working with and mentoring students from underrepresented backgrounds.

The Department of Mathematics currently includes eight tenure-track faculty and five lecturers and offers AN undergraduate degree in Mathematics.
