Summary The VPC Team Lead is responsible for assisting the VPC Supervisor and leading team members in their daily processes on the VPC Entry/Exit Sides, and the VPC Line.
VPC Team Lead must be able to perform some of the day to day activities of the supervisor in his/her absence.
Responsibilities Perform and oversee the performance of various duties on the VPC Entry/Exit Side, and the VPC Line Communicate work assignments and monitor progress toward completion throughout the day Keep crew advised of changing priorities and assignments Ensure team members are in compliance with established SWIS, policies, and procedures Report to the Supervisor any team member that demonstrates poor work performance, tardiness, negative behavior, inappropriate dress, or unwillingness to assist others Must be able to perform some of the day to day activities of the Supervisor in his absence Assist with shift start/end duties Conduct daily pre-shift team meetings (Exit Side and/or Entry Side) and communicate any process changes and/or updates to team members Keep Line Stops and Missed Chocks at a minimum Report any processing concerns with Supervisor/Assistant Manager immediately Check line inventory and alert warehouse if reference material and throw-in levels are low Effectively communicate and review processes/procedures on a regular basis, and correct members' actions when necessary Ensure team members are properly trained and have the necessary tools to perform the assigned tasks Communicate effectively with customers, Supervisors, and fellow peers to meet and exceed customer expectations Drive in/out with trainees (at the end of their training) to verify new driver's training has been thorough and successfully completed Monitor drivers to ensure processes and safety procedures are being properly followed Participate in monthly OSHA training and daily pre-shift meetings Assist with direct housekeeping duties to ensure a safe work environment Conduct daily Entry and Exit Side audits to ensure customer expectations are met Participate in monthly OSHA training and daily pre-shift meetings Other Duties as Assigned Skills Ability to develop and motivate a team Strong interpersonal skills Ability to communicate effectively to a varied audience Ability to organize work activities and manpower Ability to read, write, and solve basic math calculations Experience using Microsoft Office Education & Experience High School Diploma/GED Must hold a valid Driver's License Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, or reach above your shoulders for long periods of time Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing Lift up to 10 lbs.
