This position is responsible for assuring timely documentation of diagnoses and procedure codes for all patients to complete the billing process and the statistical database.
This position is also responsible for routinely tracking all incomplete records via the daily discharged not final billed report to assure that they are processed within the defined goals.
Works in conjunction with Corporate Compliance to assure all coding is based on complete and accurate documentation that is reflective of the patient's medical condition.
Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent required.
Completion of CCS or RHIA and or RHIT approved American Health Information Management course.
Three years coding in an acute care facility.
Two years supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to prioritize workload to achieve maximum efficiency.
Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization.
Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to guest, visitors, and patients.
Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
The ability to communicate effectively with patients, guest, and hospital personnel.
The ability to show compassion and sensitivity for patient comfort.
The ability to maintain confidentiality.
