Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform professional development work related to the design and delivery of the fundraising program at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts.
The work responsibilities are, to establish and maintain a strategic development plan to include programs such as general membership, upper-level membership, philanthropic giving, corporate sponsorship, planned giving, government and foundation grants, and governance administration; develop and deliver these programs directly and via the supervision of a team of two or more employees; creates and manages the Museum’s internal Development Department’s budget; works with Museum Director, fellow department directors, and others in the Museum on fundraising projects for the Museum.
The Development Director reports to the Museum Director.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, or other liberal arts field and five (5) years of museum or non-profit development-related experience, to include at least two (2) years in development-related management and leadership roles.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training, and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
