Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system.
The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations**
Nature of Work
The Social Media Marketing Intern will assist the Montgomery Regional Airport Authority in the development and implementation of its marketing and public relations plan.
The department is seeking an intern with a strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites.
This role offers the intern a total immersion into digital recruitment; and the successful candidate will collaborate with key members of the Montgomery Regional Airport and external marketing professionals to learn about social media, digital communications, and marketing in a recruiting environment.
This role will be instrumental in further increasing our social media presence and gaining visibility for our brand among our customers.
Minimum Qualifications
Current junior or senior who is pursuing a degree in Marketing or a related field such as Communications, English, Journalism, or Public Relations with a minimum GPA of 2.
75.
Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working collaboratively with a team.
Detailed oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills and able to maintain a professional demeanor under all circumstances.
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, and Illustrator.
Familiarity and skill with mainstream social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
PREFERRED:
Experience developing and implementing social media campaigns to promote events or organizations or similar.
(Experience could be through a class project.
)
Additional Information
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the development and awareness of the Montgomery Regional Airport Authority brand by ensuring a consistent brand image across all customer touchpoints and platforms.
Assist in creating and editing a wide variety of unique internal and digital communications content to be used for external communication, social media, and the airport’s website using relevant pictures, videos, and any other approved digital media.
Engage and interact (under supervision) in activities such as responding to questions and comments about approved social media content, and directing all inquiries to the appropriate airport personnel.
Assist and attend events, programs, and other commitments on behalf of the Montgomery Regional Airport.
Provide feedback to the communications and marketing departments so that future content meets airport guidelines and deadlines.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
ELIGIBILITY:
This is a paid internship, working a minimum of 20 hours a week.
Candidates should maintain a positive attitude under pressure, exhibit a strong work ethic and enjoy working with a variety of personalities.
