Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
Sanitation is a valuable role for any food manufacturing business.
The Sanitation Supervisor provides strong leadership to the Sanitation team to achieve full plant compliance with all personnel safety, food safety, sanitation/ cleaning requirements pertaining to all federal, state and customer requirements and Golden Boy’s own food safety and manufacturing standards.
The Sanitation Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of up to 10 employees and must maintain a positive relationship with all employees and management staff.
The Sanitation Supervisor position is a working position who is responsible for the daily management of Sanitation and Cleaning Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads the sanitation team in safe working practices including chemical handling, PPE and OSHA requirements.
Understands and practices appropriate safety procedures when performing work inside and around production equipment or at other locations in facility; observe and follow appropriate lockout/tagout and fall protection practices as outlined by standard operating procedures and safety expectations
Problem solves with Department Manager and Management teams, with an open-mind and the can co-operate in a positive and professional manner.
Develop standards and procedures for work staff, will be required to lead by example.
Assists in the development, organization, and participation of staff in departmental training programs, provides on-going supervision and coaching to improve operations with positive reinforcement and goals.
Accountability for all departmental stock and inventory control.
Periodically inventories supply and requisitions and distributes supplies and equipment; places orders as required.
Maintains records of supplies used.
Daily inspections and evaluations of plant cleanliness and the physical condition of the facility.
Reports findings to Department Manager and Plant Manager.
Other duties, as assigned
Education and Experience Required:
Must be willing to work weekends, 12-hour shifts, holidays, and overtime
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred
