” We are currently recruiting for a Banquet Server to join our team! Position Purpose The Banquet Server will set up and prepare banquet room for banquet functions.
The Server will also serve and bus tables as well as clear and tear down banquet rooms at the end of the function.
The Banquet Server will serve as the frontline representative of the property.
They must possess strong communication skills and exhibit a high degree of professionalism at all times.
WORK SCHEDULE: Schedule varies according to business levels Holidays and Weekends as deemed needed by Banquet Manager ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes the following.
Other duties may be assigned) A true desire to promote and develop harmonious inter-departmental relationship with other departments.
Set up for functions to include draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks and put out table centerpieces.
Service to include picking up food from back hall, carrying trays to function location, serve food and clear the food from the tables.
Break down to include bussing tables, putting away dirty linen and centerpieces, vacuuming.
Responsibilities also include cleaning of back hall and organizing of storerooms.
A passion to deliver and surpass the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight.
Prepare coffee breaks, carts, and stations with appropriate food and beverages as stated in Banquet Event Order.
Prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts and cordial carts.
Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
Ensure courses are cleared properly.
Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation.
Monitor tableware to ensure it is presentable to guests.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
Bus tables by removing and separating plate ware, glassware, and flatware, etc.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, protect company assets.
Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
Speak with others using clear and professional language.
Support team to reach common goals.
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
Remain alert, courteous and helpful to the guests at all times.
Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand for long periods of time on hard surface; using arms, hands and legs repetitively; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee is frequently required to walk, balance, talk, hear and smell.
Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals, warm temperature and able to work with all food products.
Must regularly be able to carry and balance up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Must be capable of effectively using close vision, distance vision, color vision and sense of smell.
Able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations Qualification Standards High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Six months Customer Service, hotel or restaurant experience preferred, but not required.
Must have excellent customer service skills Must obtain TIPS certification within 30 days (if not certified).
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer/client focus.
