Program Overview
Brighter Path Montgomery is an intensive residential treatment facility providing an array of gender specific, evidenced based and trauma informed services for females, ages 12-18, with serious and/or chronic emotional and/or behavioral management problems that interfere with the child’s ability to function in the family, school and/or community setting outside of a residential environment.
The Job
Supervises all students, oversees development of educational programming, courses, and oversees development of policies and procedures for educational services under the guidance of the ALSDE/SEA, the LEA (coordinating local public school), the Special Education Coordinator, and the Superintendent of Brighter Path Alabama Schools, and the Lead Teacher.
The Special Education Teacher is also responsible for oversight of delivery of general educational and special education services.
And, most importantly, this includes but is not limited to being able to create, interpret, initiate, and monitor IEPs (Individualized Education Plan/Programs).
The processing of IEPs in all ways must be done.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education
Certification: Certified in the Secondary Education field of Special Education
